Disassembling the left wheel
assembly
The left wheel assembly is assembled onto
an aluminum shaft (Fig. J). Remove the lap
adapter with the flange wrench, turning clock
-
wise. Once the lap adapter is removed, slide
the wheels off of the left shaft (these are the
80#, 220# and 280# wheels). The slotted bolt
on the end of the lap adapter is used to attach
an optional 1/2" arbor lap (remove bolt by
turning clockwise).
Note: Lap adapter may be
brass or aluminum.
Disassembling the right wheel
assembly
The right wheel assembly is assembled onto
an aluminum shaft (Fig. K). Remove the end
nut with the flange wrench, turning clockwise.
The end nut is located to the left of the 600#
resin wheel. Once the end nut is removed, slide
the wheels off of the right shaft (these are the
600#, 1,200# and 3,000# resin wheels).
Change wheels as necessary. Correctly position
the wheels using the spacers. Wheels should
have roughly 3/4" gap between them. Make sure
the grits are in the correct order and the wheels
are secured tightly. Reverse this entire process
to put the assemblies back on the motor shafts
and make sure to tighten adequately.
