INSTALLING THE HWX INTEGRATED FAN/POWER SUPPLY
Summary:
The Integrated Fan/Power Supply assembly (HW-PSFAN-x-xxx) provides AC/DC
conversion and fan cooling for Optiworx products that operate on -48 VDC. It is specifically
used to provide power to a single HWX Equipment Shelf (HX1281EC or HX2281EC). This
procedure describes how to mount the HW-PSFAN-x-xxx Integrated Fan/Power Supply in a
rack or cabinet.
The unit must be mounted directly above the HWX Equipment Shelf, and has mounting brackets
that can be reoriented so that the shelf can be mounted in
most
19, 23, 24, and 600 mm
(with bracket extenders) racks or cabinets. However, the mounting capabilities of the ventilation
spacer assembly may negate certain mounting configurations. Reference the rack/cabinet hardware
requirements listing for mounting capabilities.
Warning:
To prevent electrical shock, never install electrical equipment in a wet
location or during a lightning storm.
Caution:
The dual supply version of the Integrated Fan/Power Supply (HW-PSFAN-2-110)
is designed to provide two (2) power supply sources for
one
(1) HWX equipment shelf.
DO NOT attempt to connect this power supply to more than one equipment shelf.
1. Obtain the following tools and equipment:
Flat-blade or Phillips screwdriver to match mounting screws
Rack/cabinet hardware requirements (quantity) to mount assembly:
Note 1.
Although the power supply fan assembly can be mounted in a 24 space, no 19 to 24 extender
brackets exist for mounting the rear support brackets.
Note 2.
The ventilation spacer assembly can not be adapted to the 24 spacing requirement.
