REMOVING AND REFITTING GLASS & DECORATIVE TRIM
7.1
To remove the glass, remove the decorative trim and then the 4 nuts in the side frames
and pivoting it out from the bottom then remove glass from its top channel. Refitting is
done in reverse order.
7.2
REVERSIBLE SIDE CHEEKS
The appliance has side cheeks that are plain charcoal on one
side and brick effect on the other. These can be removed and replaced by the installer to
suit the customer’s choice
7.3
Refit all decorative trims and fire front components before use. The fire front has tags
internally that simply clip over the cut outs in the glass clip. These tags can be bent to
adjust if required. Lift the trim assembly halfway up the fire, press back and then slide
down and the tags will clip on the enamelled glass channels.

COAL LAYOUT
The base and front coals should be
positioned as shown. The base locates onto
the rear shelf and sits central and pushed
back. The front coal moulding is positioned
centrally in its channel with the cut out on
the right as shown.
Note the pilot position on the right hand
side of the burner.
It is important for clean burning that the
correct coal is fitted in the correct place.
There must be a clear gap between the two sets of coals.
Always replace the glass after laying the coals.
Do not attempt to use the unit with
broken / damaged glass or coals. Do not use additional or non standard coals.
Note
: Model 4247 is supplied with pebbles instead of coals and the brick effect has
already been reversed during the manufacturing process. It can be reversed back to brick
if necessary.

Some people prefer to retain a flame effect using the
left hand black knob to control its height whilst keeping
the thermostat black knob set on hot. Others prefer to
use the fire purely as a heater in which case they will
