Hooking up Your Trailer
1.
Quick Release or Nutted Axle:
Remove quick release skewer or nut from
the left side of bike’s rear wheel axle. Install hitch between quick release
or nut and frame (Figure 23). Tighten the quick release or nut following
manufacturer’s recommendation. The hitch can remain on the bike when
trailer is removed. Consult Burley.com for accessories designed to help
fit your trailer to your bike.
Thru Axle:
Consult Burley.com to obtain proper fit and installation to your
bike (Figure 24).
2.
Hooking the tow bar to the hitch:
Insert flex connector in between the two
tabs on the hitch (Figure 25), such that all the holes are aligned. Insert
retaining pin and close retainer (Figure 26). Wrap safety strap around the
frame of the bike twice and latch to the D-ring on the tow bar (Figure 27).
3.
Removing the tow bar from the hitch:
Unlatch the safety strap from the
D-Ring and unwrap it from the frame of the bike. Open the retainer on
the retaining pin and remove it. Then remove the flex connector from the
hitch.
