NOTICE
Too large of a specimen may cause the flange to advance into the specimen causing
damage to both the flange and specimen. If you need to cut large specimen, reposition the
specimen using a different mount or use a larger blade.
During operation observe the saw’s performance. Due to differences in specimen
thickness and density/consistency, the FEED RATE parameter can be adjusted for
optimum cutting conditions.
If, at any time during the cutting mode, the operator lifts the cover, presses the CUTTING
CYCLE button to the OFF position, the blade reaches the end of travel switch, or the
EMERGANCY STOP button is pressed, the blade will immediately stop.
Manual Cutting
There are two (2) ways to manually cut a specimen.
Method 1
1. Mount the specimen as previously described.
2. Press the BLADE MOTOR and PUMP MOTOR buttons to the ON position.
3. Adjust the BLADE SPEED to the desired rpms.
4. Manually turn the crank to cut the specimen.
5. Retract the blade when the cut is complete.
6. Press the BLADE MOTOR and PUMP MOTOR buttons to the OFF position.
Method 2
1. Mount the specimen as previously described.
2. Press the BLADE MOTOR and PUMP MOTOR buttons to the ON position.
3. Adjust the BLADE SPEED to the desired rpms.
4. Press the FEED MOTOR button to the ON position.
5. When the cut is complete, press the BLADE MOTOR button to the OFF position. The BLADE
MOTOR and the FEED MOTOR will be deactivated.

When using Method B, the DISTANCE REMAINING field will count down to 0.00 and
continue into the negative numbers.
6. Retract the blade.
7. Press the PUMP MOTOR button to the OFF position.
