Emitter head: 1 cm
2
(a 4 cm
2
head can also be used, but proper aim is difficult and degree of accuracy is
lowered). Frequency = 1 MHz, 1:4 PPR. Intensity: 2.0 W/cm
2
.
Electrotherapy: TENS continuous, imp. 0.05 ms, asymmetrically biphase, f = 100 Hz, (program 1525)
Procedure:
First apply contact gel (electrically conductive) to the examined area. Set the ultrasound parameters.
Outside the hyper-allergic zone (HAZ) or the assumed trigger (TP) set the intensity of the electrical to threshold
sensitive and through a fluent head movement we move to the assumed and reflective changed area. HAZ is
announced by the patient as a increased intensity of a feeling by electric current bypass. TP localisation can be
found in two ways:
1.
The patient reports a typical radiating pain.
2.
Asymptotic motor effect (muscle contraction) in the affected muscle.
