11 Preventative Maintenance
11.1 Safety
Robotic System Preventative Maintenance
The SamplePro hr-MAS robotic system is designed with a minimum amount of mainte-
nance by the user. However, to preserve the accuracy and reliability of the instrument,
the following Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures must be performed on a regular
basis according to the maintenance schedules given below.
Daily Preventive Maintenance
Daily PM is performed by the operator at the end of each day or after 8 hours of opera-
tion whatever comes first, and takes a few minutes.
WARNING
Electrical hazard from electrical shock
A life threatening shock may result when the door to the housing is open during oper-
ation.

Disconnect the device from the electrical power supply before opening the device
for maintenance. Use a voltmeter to verify that the device is not under power!

Be sure that the power supply cannot be reconnected without notice.

The housing must be closed during operation.
f
Ensure that all warning labels are in place.
f
Only trained personnel should carry out maintenance.
NOTICE
Material damage hazard due to improper maintenance.
Device deadlock may occur as a result of failures due to a lack of proper mainte-
nance.

Maintenance intervals must be properly followed.
f
Use appropriate tools to avoid damaging parts or modules.
f
Only trained personnel should carry out maintenance work.
