HOW TO USE
First use:
Wash the pot thoroughly in warm running water and then dry it
thoroughly, best with a paper towel.
Carefully spread a thick coat of edible oil on the pot surface in order to
preserve it.
Heat the pot up on a burner or in an oven in high temperature (170-
200
o
C) for 60 minutes, until the moment a portion of oil is absorbed by
the porous surface of the pot.
After the pot cools down, wipe excess oil from its surface, using a
paper towel, for example.
The maintenance with oil should be carried out in a well ventilated
room, since the oil may emit smoke and unpleasant odour when
heated up.
The better this first maintenance procedure is carried out, the longer
the pot will serve its purpose.
After each use:
The pot should be washed immediately after use. However, it should not
be pre-soaked.
The pot should be dried carefully and a thin coat of edible oil should be
applied to its surface.
Store the pot in a dry place.
Improper maintenance of the pot may lead it becoming rusted.
This
may be caused by prolonged pre-soaking, storage of wet cast iron
cookware in cabinets, and storage of sour meals in such cookware. Any
