Is this a device failure?
When there is a device failure, confirm if the conditions match those in the following.
Issue
Problems and Solutions
The screen display does
not turn off even when the
power is turned off.
Problem:
•
This unit uses electronic paper. When the option in "Screen
display settings when the power is turned off" is changed to
[Show last viewed page], the content can be displayed even
when the power is turned off. This is not a device failure.
Solution:
•
Change the settings of the power off screen display to stop
displaying the content. Change the option in "Configuring the
screen pattern when powered off" on page 62 to [Blank screen].
Nothing displays on the
screen.
Problem:
•
The screen does not display anything when the power is
turned off when high temperatures are detected or if [Blank
screen] is set to "Screen display settings when the power is
turned off". If the remaining battery becomes empty in this
state, the unit will not respond even if
is pressed.
Solution:
•
Press
and confirm that the status lamps (green)
flashes from left to right and the screen displays. If the unit
does not respond, charge the battery and confirm that the
status lamp (orange light on the left) turns on.
The status lamp (orange
light on the left) does not
turn on even when the
battery is charged
Problem:
•
The battery will not charge if the unit is above a certain
temperature due to being left for prolonged periods in direct
sunlight or in a vehicle or if the unit is below a certain
temperature, i.e. in cold climates, etc.
Solution:
•
Move the unit to a location with a temperature between 5 and
35
°
C.
Problem:
•
When the battery is fully charged, the battery does not
continue to charge.
Solution:
•
Use the battery as the battery is fully charged.
There is a delay in the
display
Problem:
•
This unit uses electronic paper. As a characteristic of the
electronic paper, the display may delay at lower temperatures.
This is not a device failure.
Solution:
•
Use the device in a warm location, i.e. range between 5 and
35
°
C.
