WARNING

Any electrical faults or breakdowns should be attended to only by a fully

qualified electrician.

NOTE

If at any time the batteries should become rim down steps must be taken to
reduce the load on the batteries by switching off any unnecessary

equipment, in particular the Godwin water pump. The switch for the

Godwin pump can also be found on the main fuse panel.

Batteries supplied:-

ECHO SOUNDER

The Seafarer Mk. III Echo Sounder consists of an instrument head mounted
above the saloon steering position.

The instrument is connected to a transducer sending unit.

The transducer is of the through-hull sending type mounted inside the hull

in a tube. It can therefore be removed without slipping the vessel.

For details see manufacturers literature supplied with this manual.

The manufacturer of Seafarer Echo Sounder is:-

Electronic Laboratories Ltd.,

For address see page S1

The transducer is fitted in front of the port or starboard engine. If an extra
Echo Sounder is fitted on the bridge steering position, the transducer will be

situated in front of the starboard engine.

4.

CATHODIC PROTECTION

To prevent electrochemical corrosion between unlike metals, in particular

bronze sterngear, two sacrificial zinc anodes are attached to the outside of
the hull. The port engine, stuffing box, ‘A’ brackets and rudder are connected

by copper wire to the port anode and starboard equipment to the starboard

anode.

The anodes should be replaced when worn down. The rate of corrosion of the

anodes is unpredictable and depends on many variables such as area of

operation and water temp., but it should not be less than 12-18 months.

Access

The anode terminals can be reached by lifting the forward floor hatch in the

aft cabin.
