Weight and Physical Dimensions
Table A-1 lists the weight and dimensions of the SilkWorm 3800.
Facility Requirements
To ensure correct operation of the switch, the facility where the switch is in use must meet the
following requirements:

Electrical:

Primary AC Input 100-240 VAC (switch auto-senses input voltage), 47-63 HZ.

Adequate supply circuit, line fusing, and wire size, as specified by the electrical
rating on the switch nameplate

Circuit protected by a circuit breaker and grounded in accordance with local
electrical codes.

The electrical interference must be less than the levels stated in the standards
listed in
Table A-4 on page A-4 , under “Immunity”.
•
Thermal:

A minimum air flow of 50 cubic feet/minute (35.7 cubic meters/hour) available
in the immediate vicinity of the switch

Ambient air temperature must not exceed 40

switch is operating.

Environmental: The specifications listed in Table on page A-3
•
If the switch will be installed in an EIA cabinet:

Cabinet space: One rack unit in a 19-inch cabinet

All equipment in cabinet grounded through a reliable branch circuit connection

Additional weight of switch must not exceed the cabinet’s weight limits
-
Cabinet must be secured to insure stability in case of unexpected movement.
