HL101 Series Digital Temperature Limit Control
INSTALLATION / OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Requirements:
Electrical terminations must be completed by qualified persons.
No special tools or protective equipment is needed to handle this product (specific applications or
surfaces may require protective equipment).
The power supply frequency must be /-10% of the value specified on the product label.
Set Up
NOTE: When the limit control passes power to the temperature controller, the components become
energized and the heater may begin heating. Do not connect the heater to its temperature
control until the heater has been properly installed and the temperature controller parameters
have been set.
1.
Inspect the limit controller and heater system for damage prior to each use (see the Inspection
section on Page 7).
2.
Setup the heater and its temperature controller following that system’s instructions.
3.
Position the limit control on a clean, dry, and flat surface. Avoid potential damage from the heater
or other heat sources. Ensure the temperature sensor can safely reach the object being monitored.
4.
Plug the temperature controller’s power cord into the Output Power receptacle of the limit control
(see Figure 1).
5.
Position the tip of the limit control’s temperature sensor so that the critical temperature region of
the component being heated can be monitored. Secure the temperature sensor using
appropriately rated adhesive tape or tie down (not provided).
5.
Plug the limit control in to an appropriately rated electrical source.
6.
Adjust limit control’s setpoint and parameters as necessary (see Quick Start Operation on Page 6).
