Chapter 3: Attaching the Bed Cabinet to the wall.
“
Bed Cabinet Bottom Nailer
” will be attached later (Chapter 7).
“BED CABINET TOP NAILER” MUST BE FIRMLY ATTACHED
TO THE WALL, OTHERWISE CATASTROPHIC COLLAPSE WILL
OCCUR DURING OPERATION OR WHILE BEING SLEPT ON!
It is the installers responsibility to make sure the bed is
securely attached to the wall, before proceeding
past this page, MAKE ABSOLUTE CERTAIN the Bed
Cabinet is firmly attached to the wall. Once the
Bed Face Panel is installed later, there will be in
excess of 200 pounds of force applied. DRYWALL
ANCHORS OR TOGGLE BOLTS INTO DRYWALL ONLY ARE
NOT ADEQUATE.
***INSUFFICIENT CONNECTIONS MAY RESULT***
***IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH!***
Insert long screws (3”) from hardware package #8 at each
stud center and secure with a #3 Phillips bit, then cover with
fast-caps from hardware package #8. When inserting screws,
using a power impact driver rather than a drill can greatly
ease the process.
The instructions in this booklet are for attaching a
bed to wood wall studs. If your wall backing varies
from this, use appropriate connections. See the
Troubleshooting section on Page 8.
DO NOT attempt to proceed if the “Bed Cabinet Top
Nailer” is damaged or cracked. Contact BredaBeds
for a replacement.
