Performing a software update
Important:
Press the “reset” button on every module before start the programming, otherwise the
actuators can be damaged.
A software update is carried out as following:
1. Download the latest software release from www.joysteer.ch (use your login to access
the download area)
2. Extract the downloaded zip file on your computer.
3. Connect the USB-RS232 adapter to your computer (it must be on COM1).
4. Connect the USB-RS232 adapter to the Programming Box
5. Remove the small covers of each converter in order to get access to the
programming connector.

Remove the cover “fuse” of the EnergyAlarm Module
7. Start up the joysteer® System
8. Connect the Programming Box to one of the Converter Modules or to the
EnergyAlarmModule. Check if the red stripe from the ribbon cable is on the right
position.
9. Put the switch on the Programming
Box on ‘prog’ and
press the ‘reset’ button
.
10. Repeat step 8-10 for all Modules.

Open the folder ‘Hex-Files’ and go into the folder corresponding to your joysteer
system.

Install brake and gas
•
Install steer, brake and gas
12. Start the file corresponding to the module where your Programming Box is
connected.

Install_BrakingSystem1 = Converter B1
•
Install_BrakingSystem2 = Converter B2
•
Install_SteeringSystem1 = Converter S1
•
Install_SteeringSystem2 = Converter S2
•
Install_EnergySystem = EnergyAlarmModule EAM
13. The programming will start automatically.
14. When it is done (after about 1 minute) repeat the programming for all other modules
(step 11-13).
