3. Trig 1 – 3.5mm mini-jack socket

This is a 12V trigger that may be used to switch the
PV1D between the on and standby states in step with
a master device, such as a surround processor, stereo
pre-amplifier or integrated amplifier that provides a
suitable trigger signal.

4. Trig 2 – 3.5mm mini-jack socket

This is a 12V trigger that may be used to switch
between two nominated presets. It would most usually
be connected to a trigger out signal on a processor
related to the selected source device.

5. RS-232 interface – 3.5mm mini-jack socket

This socket has two purposes. First, it enables
communication to a computer (most conveniently a
laptop) running the PV1D SubApp™ setup program.
A special 5m long USB to 3.5mm mini-jack cable is
supplied, which allows the user to sit at the normal
listening position when making adjustments.

Secondly, it enables control of the subwoofer by a
home automation system communicating by RS-232
protocol. See Section 7 for more.

6. Mini USB socket

From time to time it may be necessary to update the
subwoofer’s internal software (firmware). This is done
from a computer running the updater program and a
USB to mini USB cable is required. This cable is not
supplied with the product, but may be purchased from
a computer store and is commonly used to connect
a digital camera. Check for updates on the PV1D
support page of our web site.

7. Power input – Polarised IEC C8 socket

The power cord supplied with the product will vary
according to region. A matching polarised IEC C7
plug is only supplied on North American power cords
commensurate with that region’s polarised wall outlets.
In other regions, the power cable is supplied with a
non-polarised IEC C7 plug (popularly known as a figure
of 8), which mates with the socket but does not have
a flat side.

2. Mono/LFE line level input - RCA Phono socket

For mono applications, such as the subwoofer or LFE
output from a surround processor, use just one of the
line input sockets on the subwoofer. It does not matter
whether you use left or right.

Use appropriate high quality interconnect cables.
