5.1.12.2 Removing and installing rear shock
Although clearance is tight, the rear shock can be removed. Remove
the bottom bolt and rotate the shock upwards until there’s access to
the three (3) screws holding the top shock bracket to the tub.
Carefully remove the three (3) screws and pull the shock and top
bracket from the tub.
When reassembling the rear shock or installing a new rear shock, do
NOT
use a power screwdriver and do
NOT
over tighten bracket
screws. Tubs, although durable, are made with a plastic resin and
screw holes can be stripped. Once holes are stripped, tubs must be
replaced.
5.1.13 Drum belt and pulley
Remove belt from pulley by rotating pulley and “walking” belt off
pulley. Remove pulley bolt and pulley from tub.
5.1.14 Drum drive motor
Remove rear panel (5.1.4) and drum belt / pulley (5.1.13). Disconnect
motor wire harnesses. Remove two motor bolts and pull motor out
toward rear of washer. Plastic bushings can be pushed out of motor
mounting struts and replaced.
The drum drive motor & tub are grounded through the motor control.
Since the tub is plastic and the motor is isolated from the frame, It’s
critical the ground leads from the tub, drive motor & motor control are
connected properly.
m
CAUTION
– Do
NOT
over tighten top
shock bracket screws since tub screw holes
can be stripped. Once holes are stripped,
tubs must be replaced.
