Warning
SFE falling during assembly
If the SFE falls during assembly, this may lead to personnel injury.
Always carry out assembly with 2 persons present.
Caution
Damage to the SFE during assembly
SFE assembly in an unlocked state may lead to damage to the SFE.
By means of a command, ensure that the system has been locked.
Preparation for assembly
Required tool:

Hexagonal bit 5

Warning
Incorrect connection of the flange cover and the adapter plate
Incorrect connection of the flange cover and adapter plate may result in parts
becoming loose during assembly and production, which may then lead to personnel
injury and material damage.
Only connect the flange cover and adapter plate with screws which are
compliant with the standard DIN 6912.
Caution
Incorrect sealing of the element
Incorrect sealing of the element may mean that IP54 is not met.
Seal the element at the gripper and flange side so that protection class IP54 is
complied with.
The SFE is supplied in a locked state to make simple assembly possible.
To connect the SFE to an end device chosen by you, the steps described in the following sections are
required. The flange cover and the optional adapter plate are supplied packaged in separate boxes.
