In terms of this application documentation, qualified persons are those per‐
sons who are familiar with the installation, mounting, commissioning and op‐
eration of the components of the electric drive and control system, as well as
with the hazards this implies, and who possess the qualifications their work
requires. To comply with these qualifications, it is necessary, among other
things,
1) to be trained, instructed or authorized to switch electric circuits and devi‐
ces safely on and off, to ground them and to mark them
2) to be trained or instructed to maintain and use adequate safety equipment
3) to attend a course of instruction in first aid
Warning symbols
In order to indicate dangers that can occur especially during the operation of
motors, the following warning symbols and key words are used in these ope‐
rating instructions. Signal words describe the degrees of hazard seriousness.
The degree of hazard seriousness identifies the risk that exists if the safety
information is not observed. In addition to the notes regarding safety listed
here, please also observe the general safety notes in the project planning in‐
structions.
The safety notes in this documentation describe certain degrees of hazard
seriousness in the following chapters. The degree of hazard seriousness
identifies the risk that exists if the safety information is not observed (acc. to
ANSI Z535.6-2006).
DANGER
Death or severe bodily harm will occur.
WARNING
Death or severe bodily harm may occur.
CAUTION
Moderate or minor personal injury can occur.
NOTICE
Material damage can occur.
1.3
Appropriate use
The here described motors (components for Group II, Category 3G/3D) are
only allowed to be used in an area (ATEX directive 2014/34/EU),
●
where no explosive atmosphere can occur during normal operation, as
this is avoided by ventilation and monitoring.
●
where explosive atmosphere can occasionally occur in an event of fault
and this atmosphere can be eliminated and intercepted by the user im‐
mediately after occurrence. Thus the explosive atmosphere appears
rarely and for a short period of time.
This corresponds to the use of motors in zone 2 and zone 22.
