DESCRIPTION
These environment-resistant cameras provide reliable,
unattended, continuous service in demanding CCTV
applications. Their low power consumption, high
sensitivity, and stability make them an excellent
choice in surveillance and industrial applications.
3.1
Power
Refer to the camera instructions for power
requirements of the camera. The integral heater must
be considered for total power consumption of the unit.
3.2
24 VAC Cameras
Do not exceed 28 VAC input. Operation above
28 VAC violates low voltage operation specifications
(NEC-Class 2). Normal operation is 24 VAC.

Environmental Enclosure
3.3.1 Construction
These cameras are self-contained (within one case), with a
single corrosion resistant connector for power, video/
Bilinx control, lens control, and external sync. Note that
some cameras do not have external sync capabilities. A
mating connector is provided for each camera.
A reorientable mounting base containing seven (7)
1/4-20 threaded mount holes is attached to the enclosure
case by two stainless steel bands. Index indicators on
the case enable it to be accurately rotated 90 degrees
with respect to the base, by loosening the two bands,
rotating the case to the desired index, and retightening
the bands.
The exterior of the camera housing is 6.35 mm
(0.25 in.) aluminum, which ensures a rigid, rugged
structure. The camera housing is sealed at both ends by
radial pressure O-rings to create a tight seal. Front-to-
back movement of the camera cradle is prevented by
snap rings which hold the subchassis to the round
housing. Chemically strengthened glass is used for the
faceplate for maximum strength and safety.
The camera is fitted with a standard Schrader valve,
to allow pressurization with dry nitrogen to
35 kPa (5 PSIG) nominal at one atmosphere. An
over-pressurization safety relief valve is mounted on
the back end cap, along with the Schrader valve. The
relief valve provides a safety pressure blow-off,
between 100 kPa (15 PSIG) and 140 kPa (20 PSIG) at
one atmosphere.
Vent screws provide safe depressurizing of the housing
prior to removal of the retaining rings. A pressurization
warning label is visible on the back of the housing
(see
Figure 1
).
