CLOSING THE HOUSING

Supplies

Reinserting the Camera Cradle

1.

Inspect the O-ring at the end of the housing 
for nicks and debris, and replace if necessary
(see

Figure 8

)

.

2.

If replacing the O-ring, clean the O-ring groove.

3.

Apply silicone grease to the O-ring. Use only
the specified silicon grease.

4.

Install the new O-ring if necessary.

5.

Install two (2) fresh desiccant bags in the
camera cradle (see

Figure 2

)

.

6.

To reinsert the camera cradle, ensure that the
edges of the end cap are clean and free of
scratches.

7.

Slide the camera mounting cradle forward into
the housing. Use the mating connector as
described in 

Section 5.2

(see

Figure 8

).

8.

For accurate positioning, align the index mark
on the rear of the end cap with the desired
alignment mark on the housing. There are two
alignment marks spaced at 90

°

intervals on the

housing (see

Figure 9

)

.

Remove the front Vent Screw (see

Figure 10

)

.

10.

Replace the retaining ring on the rear of the
housing (see

Figure 6

).

Reinsert and tighten the rear Vent Screw 
(see

Figure 9

)

PRESSURIZING

CAUTION: This unit must be properly

pressurized after it has been opened for
camera servicing. Carefully follow the
pressurizing procedure.

Supplies

Dry Nitrogen Supply with Regulator and
Gauge

7.2

Pressurize Housing

CAUTION: Make sure that the Front Vent

Screw has been removed (see

Figure 10

)

1.

Remove the fill valve cap and attach the dry
nitrogen line to the fill valve (see

Figure 11

).

2.

Set the regulator to a maximum pressure of 
140 kPa (20 PSIG). 

WARNING: The pressure in the housing

must never exceed 140 kPa (20 PSIG).
