Troubleshooting

Refer to the notes in Sections 2.6, 3.4.3 and 3.6.2
in the event of transmission problems during
control unit diagnosis.

The KTS Truck Service Tool is also copied to
the system during every ESI[tronic] installation
with the "Truck" ESI[tronic] info type. Following
successful installation, the software is located at:
[C:]\Program Files (x86)\Bosch\ESItronic 2.0\
ESItronic\truckax\Service Tool

With the KTS Truck Service Tool, users can
check and correct basic problems on their own.
Troubleshooting of the most common problems
is presented on the home page of the software.
Access to this troubleshooting does not require a
password.

If no solution to the problem can be found in the
course of this troubleshooting and the information
provided below, please contact the Service hotline.
3.6.1
Diagnostic hardware not found
No diagnostic hardware (KTS Truck) was found
on establishing communication with the control
unit. The fault message
Fault in connection
to KTS Truck
appears.
Check the USB or
Bluetooth connection and re-establish
the link.
Possible causes
What to do
No external voltage
supply
Check whether KTS Truck is being
supplied with external power (OBD
diagnostic cable, adapter cable with
battery terminals, connecting cable for
cigarette lighter socket).
LED B on KTS Truck must flash green.
Fault in connection
to KTS Truck
1. Check whether the correct type of
connection has been selected in the
main menu under "
Hardware settings
>> KTS Truck
".
2. Then <
Test connection
>.
Bluetooth
connection faulty
or no connection
available (e.g.
following PC/
laptop standby
mode).
1. Reduce distance between Bluetooth
USB adapter and KTS Truck.
2. If the Bluetooth USB adapter is to be
connected to different PCs/laptop
USB ports, the Bluetooth driver must
be installed on each USB port.
3. Under "
Hardware settings >>
KTS Truck
" in the main menu, <Test
connection>.
4. Check the Bluetooth driver setting if
the Bluetooth connection is not OK on
testing.
5. Unplug the Bluetooth USB adapter
and plug it in again or re-boot the PC/
laptop.
No Bluetooth
USB adapter.
1. Plug in the Bluetooth USB adapter.
2. Restart control unit diagnosis.
3.6.2
No communication with control unit
During control unit diagnosis the following error
message appears:
ECU communication problem.
Check electrical connection between
vehicle and diagnostic unit.

Check for proper connection of
the necessary cables.
