Motion Detection
Displays options for configuring motion detection function.
There are two main modes supported: a software mode in
the Video System, and an on-camera mode. The Video
System mode performs analysis on images that have
been transmitted from the camera to the computer. In
contrast, the on-camera mode performs motions prior to
transmitting images, reducing CPU load and network
bandwidth usage.
Motion detection is enabled via the Archive settings when
either the “
Save all and mark motion
” or “
Save only
motion
” options are selected. The enabled/disabled status
is displayed in the bottom right corner of the Motion
Settings window. Privacy masking can also be set up to
block motion detection in selected zones.
Options for setting motion detection are the following:
•
Sensitivity
– options to adjust motion detection
i.
Level
adjusts sensitivity to inter-frame
brightness change triggering motion detection.
Lower settings may cause false motion
detection due to increased sensitivity.
ii.
Detail
adjusts size of detectable objects. Lower
settings will result in a more sensitive setting.
iii.
Limit
serves as a guard against false triggering
due to sudden overall changes in lighting. If the
