The unit has a high rotational speed so that the beam
plane can be quickly found with the receiver (optional
extra) also at greater distances.
For better visibility of the laser when working without the
receiver, select a slower rotational speed or use the la-
ser viewing glasses. (see Section “Notes on Operation”)
Point operation
The highest visibility of the laser beam is reached in
this operating mode, because contrary to the moving la-
ser beam, the complete laser energy is concentrated on
one point. This operating mode is mainly used to briefly
check horizontal or vertical building lines. For this, the
laser beam is manually pointed to the required location
by rotating the deflection prism.
The laser beam can be pointed to the required
location by pressing push-buttons 9 and 10 or
by using the remote control 27 (accessory).
Standard beam
In this operating mode the laser only moves within a lim-
ited operating range. This clearly increases the visibility
of the laser beam.
The function begins when push-button 16 is
pressed. Pressing the push-button again stops
the movement.
Pressing push-button 15 changes the speed of
the laser point. Four ranges are possible.
The laser beam can be pointed to the required
location by pressing push-buttons 9 and 10 or
by using the remote control 27 (accessory).
☞
Due to the magnetic adhesion of the deflection
prism 4 and its centrifugal force, the laser line
can run out at both ends.
Programmable line
In this operating mode, the length of the laser line can
be adapted to the operting range. Resetting is therefore
usually not required.
For this, point the laser with the deflection prism 4 onto
the starting point of the line.
Press the line push-button 16.
Then, with the line push-button 16 pressed,
point the laser with the deflection prism 4 at the
required end point.
If the push-button is released, the laser beam
moves back and forth between the starting and
the end point in the lowest speed range.
Starting and end point must be determined
manually, also when using the remote con-
trol 27 (accessory).
Pressing push-button 15 changes the speed of
the laser point. Four ranges are possible.
Pressing push-button 16 stops the rotor.
The laser beam can be pointed to the required
location by pressing push-buttons 9 and 10 or
by using the remote control 27 (accessory).
☞
Due to the magnetic adhesion of the deflection
prism 4 and its centrifugal force, the laser line
can run out at both ends.
When switching on the unit automatically detects the
horizontal or vertical position.
If the unit is set up uneven, inclination angles of up to
max. 8 % (approx. 5°) are compensated automatically.
Leveling is carried out through a servomotor. During lev-
eling the laser pulsates and the leveling indicators 13
and 11 flash. With an inclincation angle exceeding ±5°
the procedure ends at the leveling limit. Laser and lev-
eling indicators 13 and 11 flash three times with short in-
terruptions. In this case, switch the unit off, correct the
position of the unit and switch it on again.
Before changing from horizontal to vertical position,
switch the unit off and allow it to relevel.
Do not record leveling points during the leveling proce-
dures.
The unit is leveled once the laser and the leveling indi-
cators 13 and 11 light up continuously.
Position changes of the unit during operation lead to
the following reactions:
Minor position changes (
≤
2 mm/10 m):
The unit relevels automatically. The
selected operating mode is not in-
terrupted.
Ground vibrations or weather influ-
ences are automatically compen-
sated.
Medium position changes (
≤
20 mm/10 m):
The unit relevels automatically. The
selected operating mode is inter-
rupted until the releveling is com-
pleted.
The laser pulsates and the leveling
indicators 13 and 11 flash.
Major position changes (>20 mm/10 m):
The BL 100 VHR is equipped with
an out-of-level shutoff. This means
the rotor stops and the laser
switches off. A continuous alarm
sounds and the leveling indicators
13 and 11 flash.
In this case switch the unit off, cor-
rect the position of the unit and
switch it on again.
The out-of-level shutoff is activated for 8 seconds after
each time a push-button is pressed and after each lev-
eling procedure.
☞
The unit is leveled as long as the rotor is in mo-
tion and the laser is continuously lit.
