Checking display stability
¶
Detach the hose at the exhaust gas measurement
inlet of the BEA 055.
i
There must not be any engine exhaust gases,
gasoline or cleaning agent vapors in the atmosphere
in the vicinity of the BEA 055.
Select "Diagnosis >> Engine/gas values" in the Bosch
Emissions Analysis. The current gas values are
displayed following zero calibration and the HC residue
test.
Observe the display for approx. 2 minutes with regard
to limit values and stability.

5.4.6
O
2
sensor
Over the course of time, the O
2
sensor is subject to
wear. The oxygen measurement zero point is constantly
monitored. In the event of deviation, a fault message
appears. The message indicates the need for O
2
sensor
replacement.
!
Use is only to be made of a genuine O
2
sensor
with the designation BOSCH A7-11.5 or
CLASS R-17A BOS (order number 1 687 224 727).
The O
2
sensor contains an alkaline solution.
Alkaline solutions cause severe burns on
bare skin.
¶
Do not open or damage the O2 sensor.
¶
Wear safety goggles.
¶
Wear protective gloves.
¶
Immediately rinse any areas of skin affected
with water at least 15 minutes and then
consult a doctor.
!
Old O
2
sensors are classed as
hazardous waste
and must be disposed of in accordance with
the applicable regulations. The disposal code is
16 05 02 (European waste catalog: EAK code).
In addition, these parts can be sent back to the
manufacturer for disposal.
5.4.7
NO sensor
Over the course of time, the NO sensor is subject
to wear. The zero point of the NO measurement is
constantly monitored. In the event of deviation, a fault
message appears. The message indicates the need for
NO sensor replacement.
!
Always use the genuine NO sensor (NOXO 100 Nitric
Oxide Sensor; order number 1 687 224 954).
The NO sensor contains acid.
Acids cause severe burns on bare skin.
¶
Do not open or damage the O2 sensor.
¶
Wear safety goggles.
¶
Wear protective gloves.
¶
Immediately rinse any areas of skin affected
with water at least 15 minutes and then
