Battery
■
Protect the battery from heat and fire: Danger of
Explosion!
■
Never leave the machine on heaters or expose to
strong sunlight for long periods of time, tempera-
tures of more than 50 °C cause damage. Allow
the heated battery to cool before charging.
■
Avoid repeated consecutive rapid charges of the
battery. Do not recharge after using only briefly
(e. g., 3 minutes).
■
Charge the battery just before using the machine;
this ensures that the battery is at its maximum
performance capability.
■
Long service life is achieved when the battery is
regulary loaded and then recharged.
■
A considerably short operating life in spite of re-
charging indicates that the battery is dead and
must be replaced.
■
Observe the notes on environmental protection.
Charge battery.
Always use the correct supply voltage:
The volt-
age specification on the type rating plate must be the
same as that of the electric supply line.
A new battery produces its full power after approx.
five charging and discharging cycles. This also ap-
plies for batteries that have not been used for a long
time.
When used correctly, the battery can be recharged
up to 1000 times.
Insert mains cable into charging socket
6
and con-
nect to a wall socket (see fig.
). Do not switch on
equipment while charging.
After the completion of the charging process (ap-
prox. 20 hrs. for an empty battery), remove the
mains cable from the socket and from the machine.
If the machine remains connected to the mains after
being successfully charged, this does not damage
the battery but makes no sense because of the un-
necessary energy consumption.
