The S3 DIP switch can be used to configure the X57 interface as an RS-485
or RS-422:

Switch 3 set to ON = TXD is controlled via RTS.
Also, for 2-wire operation, TXD+ must be bridged
with RXD+, and TXD– with RXD–.
