3. CONNECTION TO THE CHIMNEY
All Boru Stoves are certified with a chimney draught reading of 12-14 pascals – where the
chimney draught exceeds this reading we recommend a draught stabiliser be installed – please
contact an accredited chimney specialist for further details.
The flue or chimney system must be in good condition and inspected by an accredited
competent person before installation. The chimney must also be cleaned before
installation.
The chimney height and position of the chimney terminal should conform to Building
Regulations.
Check that the chimney is in good condition, dry, free from cracks and obstructions.
An existing fireplace opening can be closed up or sealed using a register plate.
If installing into a masonary chimney it is required to fit a register plate in accordance with
Building Regulations.
The diameter of the flue should not be less than 150mm and not more than 230mm.
If any of these requirements are not met, the chimney should be lined by a suitable
method.
It is essential that all connections between the stove and chimney flue are sealed and
made airtight.
