The baby plate is used to drop the new-born for a short period of time. The umbilical 
cord  is  cut  when  the  new-born  is  placed  on  the  baby  plate  and  then  placed  on  the 
breast  of  his  mother,  or  on  another  table  to  perform  some  necessary  procedures. 
Then it can be used to expel the placenta and control it. 
 
 
If the baby plate is not used it must be removed from the bed and stored in the room.
