Commissioning
Place the device on an even and level surface.
Ensure that the device is located away from radiators and heat sources.
If possible, avoid using extension cables and multiple sockets, you should rather insert the
network cable directly into the device and the wall socket (in accordance with the technical data).
If using an extension, ensure that this meets the specifications of the device and is equipped with
a cable with a safety plug.
Operation:
Switch the device on at the main switch underneath the power cable on the back ("I"). The symbol for
standby mode comes
on blue.
The device is now ready for use. If the symbol does not light up, browse through "General Troubleshooting
and Fault Clearance" on page 18 of these instructions.
Please note: if the basket is not fully pushed in, the standby light will flash
red. Push the basket in correctly in order to prepare the device for operation.
Shredding paper
Insert the paper in portrait format into the opening. The paper is recognised by sensors, the
cutting mechanism starts up and the paper is taken in automatically. It then stops again a short
time after no more paper remains in the cutting mechanism. Please note the maximum number of
8 sheets of DIN A4 size (80g/m²).
If you want you, you can press the
button to return the device to standby mode in order to save
electricity. To switch from standby to operation mode, press the
button once again.
Overloading:
Should you insert more paper than the device can handle all at once, the cutting mechanism stops
and the reverse operation operates for a short time. The overload indicator light briefly comes
on red. Remove the paper and the cutting mechanism will soon briefly free itself of pieces of paper.
Remove some of the sheets and try again.
Manual insertion:
If a sheet of paper is too thin or too transparent to be detected by the sensors, press the touch key
for manual operation . You can also switch between forward and reverse operation to
free the cutting mechanism of any pieces of paper caught in it.
