SAFETY INFORMATION
The functionality and safety of the gearbox depend on strict compliance with the requirements
contained in this manual. In particular:
•
Comply with the indications regarding transport and storage.
•
Operate the gearbox only in accordance with its intended use.
•
Carry out routine maintenance on the gearbox accurately and regularly, respecting the intervals
and methods indicated.
•
Assign any operation on the gearbox only to authorized personnel.
•
Use only approved detergents and lubricants.
•
Avoid the excessive accumulation of dirt on the gearbox.
•
Avoid any modification or extraordinary maintenance on the gearbox, unless explicitly agreed and
approved by the Manufacturer.
2.1
DIRECTIVE 2006/42/EC
According to the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, gearboxes are considered as “components” and
are thereby excluded from the scope of the Directive. Therefore, declarations of conformity and
CE marking are not permitted for these components.
It is forbidden to commission the gearbox within the scope of Directive 2006/42/EC until
compliance with the directive itself has been ascertained for the machine in which the gearbox is
to be installed.
2.2
AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL
Transport, handling, installation, maintenance, disassembly and disposal work on this gearbox
must only be carried out by authorized personnel, who shall be experienced and qualified in the
specific operation assigned.
Expert and qualified personnel means an operator with adequate training, knowledge and
expertise to allow him to perform the assigned tasks and above all to identify the potential
dangers associated with each operation and take appropriate measures to contain the associated
risk.
Authorized personnel must have read and understood the contents of this manual before
performing any operation on the gearbox.
2.3
GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION
2.3.1
INTENDED USE
The gearbox is intended to be used in industrial applications as a machine part suitable for power
transmission by means of speed variation between input and output.
