..when the appliance door is open
As soon as the appliance door remains open for
more than 90 seconds, a signal tone sounds 5 times
every 30 seconds.
Press the SET button or close the appliance door to
stop the alarm.
..in case of temperature rise
In case of a malfunction of the appliance or a longer
period without power supply, the internal temperature
may rise. If the temperature rises above -6°C, a sig-
nal tone sounds 5 times every 5 seconds and the
indicator lights flash.
As soon as the temperature drops below -10℃
again, or if you press the SET button prematurely,
the alarm is switched off.
Starting the appliance

Connect the appliance to the power supply.

Set the operating conditions. See also the follow-
ing sections.
Settings
Basically, the temperature changes depending on the
ambient temperature (place of installation), the fre-
quency of opening the door and the equipment.
For initial operation, first set the lowest possible in-
ternal temperature (= highest power level) or the
super freezing function until the appliance has
reached the desired operating temperature. It is rec-
ommended to reset to a medium power level after-
wards, then you can easily make any temperature
correction.
NOTE:
In generally a medium power level works best for an
optimized food storage. A high power level also in-
creases the energy consumption.
Storing food
NOTE: Recommendation!
To guarantee that the temperature is low enough,
you should pre-cool the appliance a few times before
initial loading foods.
CAUTION:
Always pay attention to the storage instructions on
the sales packaging.
The 4-star freezer allows you to store frozen food at
a temperature of ≤ -18°C for several months; to pro-
duce ice cubes and to freeze fresh food.
To avoid contamination of food, respect the following
instructions:

Opening the door for long periods can cause a
significant increase of the temperature in the
compartments of the appliance.

Clean regularly surfaces that can come in contact
with food and accessible drainage systems (see
“Cleaning and Maintenance”
).

Store raw meat and fish in suitable containers in
the refrigerator, so that it is not in contact with or
drip onto other food.

Two-star frozen-food compartments are suit-
able for storing pre-frozen food, storing or making
ice-cream and making ice-cubes.

One- , two- or three-star compart-
ments are not suitable for the freezing of fresh
food.


Storage space
Depending on requirements, shelves/drawers can be
removed (partially and depending on model) to opti-
mize the storage space or for cleaning purposes.
NOTE:
For the most efficient use of energy, place all
shelves/drawers according to delivery condition.
