5.1  Installing the Air Pressure Regulator

An air pressure regulator assembly is included with the BOC Smoothcut
Plasma 40.

To install follow the steps listed below:

Fix the mounting bracket with the screws as supplied to the back of
the machine.

Fix the air inlet and outlet connectors to the air pressure regulator.

Fit the air hose to the air outlet connector on the air pressure
regulator and the other side to the machine inlet connector. Ensure
that all connections are tight.

Fit the pressure indicating dial to the main body of the regulator and
ensure that it is screwed in tight.

Fit the air pressure regulator to the mounting bracket.

Adjust pressure adjusting screw till correct air pressure is achieved.

5.2   Setting up the power source

Connect primary cable to the power supply (15 Amps).

Connect the air supply. Ensure that the air pressure regulator is
properly installed as per section 5.1 of this manual.

Connect the work return lead and clamp.

Select the appropriate amperage.

Ensure that you are wearing the correct PPE.

Begin cutting.

The torch is fitted with a trigger safety latch which needs to be lifted
in order to press the torch trigger.

The cutting process works on the principle of a contact start i.e.
the cutting tip needs to touch the work piece before cutting will
commence.
