[EN] BLS 2600next ELECTRIC FAN USE AND
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT
It is recommended to:
- keep the manual for the entire life of the unit,
- read the manual carefully before any use,
- use the unit exclusively for professional use and
for the intended purpose; improper use of the unit
exonerates the manufacturer from any liability.
- always refer to the user manual of the filters com-
patible exclusively with the 2600next product [ISU
040 00];
In order to identify the unit (model and serial num-
ber) in the event of assistance or spare parts re-
quest, read the identification label positioned in-
side the filter holder compartment on the back of
the device.
The PPE covered by these Instructions for Use
has undergone type tests for CE certification in
compliance with EU Regulation 2016/425 and
subsequent amendments as Category III PPE by
ITALCERT S.r.l. Viale Sarca, 336 – 20136 Milan
– Italy - Notified Entity n° 0426. The CE marking
means compliance with the essential health and
safety requirements referred to in Annex II of EU
Regulation 2016/425. Number 0426 identifies the
Notified Entity Italcert, S.r.l. Viale Sarca, 336 –
20136 Milan – Italy, authorized to perform checks
pursuant to Form D of EU Regulation 2016/425.
The user must make sure that the complete BLS
2600next device provides the appropriate level of
protection against the type and concentration of
contaminants present in the environment where
the device will be used.
INTRODUCTION
BLS 2600next electric fan is an overpressure as-
sisted breathing system. It has been designed to
operate in areas with high concentrations of toxic
particulates and under high temperature operat-
ing conditions. In order to be a complete assist-
ed breathing system, the electric fan must be
equipped with the appropriate filter, battery and
full-face mask. Examples of typical applications:
the decontamination of asbestos, agriculture, the
production of cements, pharmaceutical products,
etc.
This manual contains all the necessary information
for an operator trained to use the BLS 2600next
electric fan in an effective and safe manner, and
must therefore be read carefully before use. Keep
these instructions.

GENERAL INFORMATION
BLS 2600next electric fan is an assisted ventila-
tion system, which ensures a flow of 160 l/min to
be used with a full-face mask and TMP3 dust filter.

The BLS 2600next system is powered by re-
chargeable Li-Ion batteries (TDS); these batter-
ies have no memory effect and are constantly
fully recharged. The use of rechargeable Li-Ion
batteries helps maintaining the low weight of the
entire system, while at the same time providing
high operation autonomy. The battery does not
require any maintenance except the execution of
a correct charging procedure. BLS 2600next elec-
tric fan can maintain a positive pressure inside the
mask, allowing easier breathing and increased
comfort of use compared to normal filter systems.
BLS 2600 next electric fan complies with the EN
12942+A1:2002 +A2:2008 standard when used
with BLS TMP3 filter and the full-face masks in
the aforementioned models. The fan features a
battery charger which provides optimal automatic
battery recharging.
FILTER DEVICE SELECTION
The following parameters must be taken into con-
sideration when selecting the filter device: NPF
(nominal protection factor) is the number derived
from the maximum percentage of total internal
loss allowed in the relevant European standards
(NPF = 100/% max total internal loss allowed).
APF (Assigned Protection Factor) is the realistic
protection value that can be expected to be ob-
tained from a properly worn device (different for
each country). TLV (Threshold Limit Value) is a con-
centration threshold - generally expressed in parts
per million, ppm - for the safety of people exposed
to a hazardous substance in the air. APF multiplied
by the TLV of the substance approximates the lim-
it concentration to which one can expose oneself
with a particular device. For an accurate selection
and maintenance of filter devices, as well as for
the definitions and use of NPF and APF it is rec-
ommended to refer to the European standard EN
529:2005 and the related national regulations.
