Instruction Manual
Stream: the user must update the source IP stream information in the following format:
xxx://yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy:zzzzz
where,
xxx = the protocol / encapsulation method of the source (IP) stream. The only acceptable protocols are UDP or RTP.
yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy = IP address of the source stream.
zzzzz = port number of the source stream.
Example 1: Assume that the source stream is (i) using UDP protocol, (ii) in Multicast format, (iii) provided from IP
address 225.16.70.20, and (iv) on port 50001. Then the address must be entered as: UDP://225.16.70.20:50001.
Example 2: Assume that the source stream is (i) is using RTP protocol, (ii) in Multicast format, (iii) provided from IP
address 239.16.180.67, and (iv) on port 50000. Then the address must be entered as: RTP://239.16.180.67:50000.
Example 3: Assume that the source stream is (i) using UDP protocol, (ii) in Unicast format, (iii) provided from IP
address 172.160.80.70, and (iv) on port 50000. Then the address must be entered as: UDP:// 172.160.80.70:50000.
Name: once the Stream information in above is updated, the unit auto-detects the name of the source stream if
assigned by the source. The user, however, is allowed to edit/update the current stream name. Up to 10 alphanumeric
characters are allowed.
The address entered here MUST be identical to the address of the source stream, or else the unit
cannot recognize the source (IP) stream. No duplicate IP addresses are allowed. If duplicate IP
addresses are entered, then the duplicate IP addresses will be highlighted in yellow as shown in
Figure 6.2.4.
The IP address range for a Muticast stream must be between 224.0.0.0 and 239.255.255.255. The
unit will consider any address outside of this range to be a Unicast address.
