•
When you trigger the capture a characteristic "camera sound" can be heard
when the capture is finished.
•
After the image capture is done, you will be presented with a menu where you
can view or save the image. The view option will just show the image on the
screen, as captured. If you don't like the image, you can get back to the
camera capturing mode using the long-press with two fingers gesture.
•
When you select the "Save" option, you will be prompted to record a short
voice description of the image (up to 5 seconds). This description will later
help you identify images in your image gallery.
•
After the image has been saved, the phone will return to the capture mode
and you can capture more images. Use the long-press with two fingers
gesture to return to leave the camera function.
Images
A simple image viewer can be used to view images captured by the Camera
application.
There are two folders for images: "Camera images" (containing images captured by
the phone) and "Other images" (containing any images you may have copied to
your phone from your computer).
•
When you open the image viewer, the most recently captured image will be
presented to you. The image will be shown on the screen and the voice
description will be played back to you.
•
You can browse the list of images going left and right. Every time a new
image is shown, its voice description will be played.
•
A long press with one finger will open a context menu where you can select
one of the following actions: Zoom, Share image, Image information, Change
recorded note, Delete image.
•
You can browse the pictures by months or all together.
Zoom
If you need to magnify the image, you can do so using the "Zoom in" item in the
context menu. Once the image is zoomed, the zoom level will be announced
(available zoom levels are 2, 4, 8 and 16). You can scroll the zoomed image by
dragging your finger across the screen in the direction you want to move the image.
If you want to decrease the zoom level, open the context menu again and use the
"Zoom out" option. You need to zoom out before navigating to the next image.
Share image
Sharing pictures is possible in two ways - via SMS or via e-mail.
•
Share image by e-mail - this option opens a new e-mail and the picture will be
automatically saved as an attachment to this e-mail. The recipient of this e-
mail can open and save the picture.
•
Share image by text message - this option allows you to share an image you
have taken with another person from your contacts who will be able to view it.
You can send it to a phone number, too.
This can be useful when you want to ask a sighted person for help or when you just
want to send a photo for any reason.
For this function, you will need functional mobile data or WiFi connection. The image
will be encrypted and uploaded to BlindShell servers. The recipient will then receive
a text message containing a link that can be used to view this image.
