Turning on and turning off the
radio
When you first receive your handheld, the wireless radio might be
turned off. You must turn on the radio before you can send and
receive messages or use the Browser application.
On the Home
screen, click the
Turn Wireless On
icon.

The
Turn Wireless On
icon is represented by an antenna, but when
you click the icon, the application name changes to
Turn Wireless
Off
and the icon changes to an airplane. The airplane icon is a
reminder to turn off your handheld radio when you are on an
airplane, in a hospital, or in any place where your handheld might
interfere with other radio transmissions and frequencies.
Note:
You should turn off your handheld radio if you are going to be
out of a wireless coverage area for an extended period of time. Turning
off the radio conserves battery life.
