CHAPTER 2: Overview

NOTES

1. Throughout this manual, the master is the KVM switch that connects

directly to a PS/2 or USB keyboard, PS/2 or USB mouse, and
monitor. The slave is a KVM switch that has its console port
connected to the master’s PC x port (where x refers to a computer
numbered 1–8). A slave exists only in a cascaded configuration.

2. For detailed descriptions and restrictions for a cascaded

configuration, see Chapter 5.
