REPLACING ANODES
Don't forget to have the filter turned off and the taps /
valves closed to prevent water from spurting out when
you remove the old anodes.
1. Unscrew the barrel union nuts on either side of the
BioPod Cartridge.
2. Remove the old BioPod Cartridge. Make sure that the
O-rings fitted to the fittings that are glued to the pipe
are correctly seated in place.
3. Fit the new BioPod Cartridge. It can be fitted either
way around.
4. Screw the barrel union nuts back in place to a firm
hand tightness. Do not use a tool, as it could damage
the plastic threads.
5. Refit the ring terminals from the Bionizer output cable,
and screw the wing nuts on tightly.
HOW CAN I GET THE MOST LIFE FROM MY
ANODES ?
When the anodes get quite small, the Bionizer may not be
able to pass enough current between them to maintain
the correct Copper level. At this time, the
MAX. OUTPUT
LED starts to flash.
Reducing the Ionising Output (page 14) can make the
MAX. OUTPUT
light go out. Be sure to also increase the
Ionising Time proportionally so the Bionizer is still
producing enough Copper Ions each day.
For example, if you halve the Ionising Output, you must
double the Ionising Time. See page 14.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CHECK ANODES ?
We recommend checking your anodes for wear every six
(6) months.
It is always a good idea to have a spare set of anodes on
hand.
