AudiaFUSION REAR PANEl

Figure 3 . Rear Panel Layout

Serial Control Port

After initial programming and configuration, AudiaFUSION may be controlled by third-party control systems such as AMX

®

 or Crestron

®

using the Serial Control Port. External devices may also be controlled or signaled via the Serial Control Port by utilizing Command String
blocks within the Audia system design. The port is a DB9 female with pin 2 [RXD], pin 3 [TXD], and pin 5 [GND] connected. AudiaFUSION is
an RS-232 DCE device. The default settings are 38400, 8, N, 1, None. The baud rate is adjustable in the Audia software using the Device
Maintenance dialog window. The other serial port settings are not adjustable.

Please note:

There is no hardware flow control. Flow control

must be managed in control software.

Power Entrance

The Power Entrance provides for connection of the appropriate power cord (included with unit). A switch selects the operating voltage for
the power supply, 110–120V or 220–240V at 50/60 Hz.

NM-1

NM-1 is the Network Module that is included with AudiaFUSION. It provides Ethernet connectivity for programming and control, the
CobraNet interface for digital I/O, and logic ports for the device failover functionality.

Reset Button

Reset button, when held down for 5 seconds, performs a chassis restart. The Status indicator will flash amber during restart and will turn

solid green once the process is complete.

Logic I/O

The Logic I/O connector on the NM-1 facilitates redundant device failover only. It is not a general-purpose contact closure interface.

See the Amplifier-to-Amplifier Failover section below.

Ethernet

AudiaFUSION uses Ethernet for system programming and control. Programming is accomplished using Audia software provided with

each unit. Audia software is for PC computers with Windows

®

XP Professional/Vista operating system (required). The PC computer must

have a network card installed that supports 10/100Base-T Ethernet. A 10/100Base-T Ethernet switch (not repeater hub) is required when
networking multiple units. AudiaFUSION uses standard CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, or CAT7 cabling, which has a specified maximum length of
100 meters. Additional Ethernet switches and/or fiber-optic cable can be used to further extend distances between units on a network.

CobraNet

The CobraNet interface in AudiaFUSION supports up to 32 simultaneous channels of digital audio (16-in, 16-out) over Fast Ethernet

and is compatible with other CobraNet compliant devices. Therefore, AudiaFUSION can be networked with CobraNet products from other

manufacturers, expanding the system configuration capabilities. A 10/100Base-T Ethernet switch (not repeater hub) is required when
networking multiple units. CobraNet utilizes standard CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, or CAT7 cabling, which has a specified maximum length of
100 meters. Additional Ethernet switches and/or fiber-optic cable can be used to further extend distances between units on a network.
