3. If the batteries in the device are depleted or the device will not be used for a long period of time, remove
the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.
4. Do not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged; they can overheat and rupture (follow bat-
tery manufacturer’s directions.)
5. Do not dispose of batteries in fire, batteries may explode or leak.
6. Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation.
7. Remove discharged batteries from the product and dispose/recycle in compliance with all applicable laws.
If present, remove the battery insulating strip or remove the battery’s protective film and
insert the battery according to the polarity. If the scale fails to operate, remove the battery
completely and reinsert it. Replace the battery cover carefully.
A new battery will last for approximately 2 years if the scale is used three times per day.
The trial battery supplied with the unit may have a shorter life. Remove battery if you do not intend to use
the scale for longer periods before placing the device in storage.
Your scale is equipped with a “replace battery” indicator. When the battery is weak, “Lo” appears in the display
field and the scale automatically switches off. The battery must be replaced (1 x 3 V lithium battery CR2032).
5. Operation
This scale is used to determine the weight of human beings and has a maximum weight of 400 lb (181.4
kg/28.57 st).
Place the scale on a hard, plane level floor (no carpet); a firm floor covering is required for correct measure-
ment.
Note: For first use and relocation
In order to ensure accurate results it is recommended to reset the scale to “0”.
• Step on to the scale for one second and then step off.
• The scale shows “
0.0
lb” (kg/st).
• It will shut off automatically after several seconds.

6. Cleaning, maintenance and disposal
NOTICE:
•
Protect the scale against hard knocks, moisture, dust, chemicals, major temperature fluctuations and
heat sources which are too close (e.g. stoves, heating radiators). This may damage the unit.
•
Do not use any aggressive solvents, cleaning agents, detergents or any other strong chemicals to
clean the device.
•
Never immerse and or spill water or any other liquid onto the scale, otherwise liquid will enter the
scale and cause damage.
•
Observe the local regulations for material disposal. Dispose of the device in accordance with local
regulations.
•
Never attempt to repair the instrument or adjust it yourself. This may damage the unit and impair
the functions. If you need to have the unit repaired, please contact our customer service. Please see
warranty for service contact. Before submitting any complaint, first check the battery and replace it
if necessary.
•
Changes or modifications to the device will nullify the user warranty.
