Problem: The monitor does not switch on.
Cause
Remedy
Low batteries
Replace batteries.
Battery missing or not installed correctly
Check that the batteries are correctly
installed (see "4.1 Inserting and replac-
ing batteries" page 13).
Test strip is incompletely inserted or
wrong way around
Insert a test strip into the monitor with
the contacts first. Make sure that the
front of the test strip is facing you (see
"3.3 Test strips" page 11).
Faulty monitor
Contact Customer Service.
Problem: The test does not start after inserting the test strip into the monitor and
applying the blood.
Cause
Remedy
Blood volume too low
Repeat test with new test strip and
greater volume of blood.
Faulty test strip
Repeat test with a new test strip.
Blood was applied with the monitor
switched off
Repeat test, apply blood when

flashes.
Faulty coding
Repeat coding (see "4.3 Checking code
number (coding)" page 14).
Basic settings of monitor have been
changed and the change was not com-
pleted (see "4.2 Making basic settings"
page 13).
Remove battery cover and press SET
button until OFF is displayed.
Replace battery cover and repeat test.
Faulty monitor
Contact Customer Service.
