The film roll drive
runs too long
The film roll drive is not discon-
nected.
Check the function of the film monitoring switch
and the proximity switch.
The film roll is
empty
There is no film on the film roll.
Insert a new film roll (see How to insert the film).
Thermistor protec-
tion
A drive motor has overheated.
Find out the cause of the overheating and elimi-
nate it. Reset the fault at the tripping unit.
Thermostat of the
sealing rail
The thermostat of the sealing rail
has failed.
• Check the Teflon fabric belt of the sealing
rail.
• Check the cables for wire breakage.

Ultrasonic sensor
for height measur-
ing
The ultrasonic sensor for height
measuring is not ready for opera-
tion.
Check the functioning of the ultrasonic sensor.
Stretching heads
have set down
One of the spring bar limit
switches on the stretching heads
has been activated.
Find out the cause and eliminate it.
Motor protection
A drive motor is overloaded.
Find out the cause of the overload and eliminate
it. Switch on the motor protecting switch again.
Malfunction of a
frequency converter
The frequency converter is not
ready for operation.
Read the reason for the fault on the display of
the frequency converter.
Further information on the fault occurred and its
elimination is indicated in the manufacturer's
manual.
AS-i transmitters
(proximity
switches/photocells)
The proximity switch/photocell is
not ready for operation.
Check the function of the transmitter, its setting
and wiring.
When replacing the AS-i transmitter, observe
the addressing in any case.
Transmitters (prox-
imity
switches/photocells
without AS-i)
One of the proximity
switches/photocells is defective.
Check the function of the transmitters, their set-
ting and wiring.
Running time moni-
toring
The module does not reach the
position required.
Check the function of the cylinder and the valves
as well as the setting of the reed contacts.
Error of pulse train The function of one of the prox-
imity switches is faulty.
• Check the function of both proximity
switches.
• Check the sense of rotation of the drive mo-
tor.
• Ensure that the cable sets are not mixed up.
Pulse counting
(proximity switch)
The drive motor has been con-
nected, and the proximity switch
has not received any impulses
within the preset time.
Check the drive motor for sluggish movement.
Check the contactors, the wiring or the proximity
switch, if required. The operating distance is to
be set to about 1 mm.
