SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the Operating Instructions carefully before use!
The machine is supplied without a battery and charger. The safety instructions below apply when
using 18 V battery (DBB0206/DBB0207) and charger (DBB0208).

Save these instructions for future reference.

The charger and/or adapter are designed to charge batteries of the type approved for the tool.

The safety instructions in these Operating Instructions are not intended to cover all conditions and working
methods that are possible during operation, maintenance and cleaning of power tools.

Always use your common sense.
Important safety information

If you have a pacemaker or other implanted medical device, please consult your doctor before using this product.
When used in close proximity to a pacemaker, electrical equipment may affect the function of the pacemaker or
cause it to stop working.

Certain types of dust created during sanding, sawing, drilling and other similar work contain chemicals that have
been shown to be carcinogenic, harmful to fetus or cause fertility problems.

The risk of exposure to these will vary depending on how often you perform this type of work. To minimize
exposure to these chemicals: keep the work area well ventilated. Use approved safety equipment, e.g. dust masks
which are specifically designed to filter out microscopic particles.

Keep the work area clean and well lit. Untidy workbenches and dark spaces increase the risk of accidents and
injuries.

Do not use power tools in explosive environments, such as in the vicinity of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
Power tools produce sparks that can ignite dust and fumes.

Keep children and onlookers at a safe distance when using the tool. You can easily lose control of the tool if you
are distracted.
Electrical safety

Be careful with the power cord. Never use the power cord to carry the charger. Keep the cord away from heat, oil,
sharp edges and moving parts. Replace damaged power cords immediately.

Damaged power cords can cause fires.

Battery-powered tools with built-in batteries or a separate battery may only be recharged with the specified battery
charger. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery can pose a fire risk if used with another battery.

Only use battery-powered tools with the intended battery. Use of other batteries may pose a fire risk.
Personal safety

Pay attention to what you are doing. Remember to use all necessary safety precautions and common sense when
working with power tools. Never use the tool if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
A moment of inattention when using a power tool can result in serious personal injury.

Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery. Protect long hair. Keep hair, clothing
and gloves away from moving parts. Loose-fitting clothing, jewellery and long hair can get caught in moving parts.

Avoid accidental starting. Make sure the power switch is in the locked or OFF position before connecting the
battery. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or inserting a battery with the switch turned on
involves a risk of injury.

Remove assembling and adjusting tools before the tool is turned on. Spanners, keys or similar that are left in a
rotating part of the power tool can cause personal injury.

Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance. This will ensure you have better control over
the tool in unexpected situations.

Use safety equipment. Always wear eye and ear protection. Depending on the type of power tool and how it is
used, safety equipment such as dust masks, non-slip safety shoes and safety helmets may also be required.

Secure the work piece to a stable surface with clamps or other practical tools. Do not hold the work piece in your
hand or against your body as this is unstable and can result in a loss of control.

Do not force the tool. Always use the correct tool for the job. The tool does the job better and safer when used at
the operating speed for which it was designed.
