Removing the gearshift mechanism and the gear shafts
– Lay down the engine on one side.
– Release the engine fastening on the stand.
– Detach the left-hand crankcase half using suitable tools posi-
tioned on the specially designed supports. Alternatively, gen-
tly tap the driven shaft with a plastic mallet.
TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE SEALING SURFACES,
AVOID SEPARATING THE CRANKCASE WITH A
SCREWDRIVER OR A SIMILAR TOOL.
– Remove the left-hand crankcase half with its gasket.
– Remove the two centring bushes from the crankcase and fix
the right-hand crankcase half in the stand.
– Remove thrust washer

and inner ring nut

– Remove the two fork guide rods

with the four springs from
the crankcase and turn the gearshift forks to one side.
– Remove desmodromic mechanism

– Remove gearshift forks

During the removal, ensure that gearshift bushes

on
the fork dragging pins are not left in the desmodromic
mechanism.
– Jointly remove the driving shaft and the driven shaft from their
seats.
– Remove 1st speed idler gear

from the crankcase together
with the needle roller cage and the two thrust washers.
