13. RESISTANCE TABLE
Examples of resistance to chemical agents in basic groups
This information has been supplied by producers of the chemicals and is derived from a
careful examination of published data. We therefore consider it to be accurate.
In any case though, since the resistance of the metals, plastics and elastomers may be
influenced by factors such as concentration, temperature, the presence of other chemical
agents and others, these data must be considered as providing a general guide and not an
absolute guarantee.
The information is not based on room temperature or performance, but only on resistance
to the chemical agents.
At the time of printing four different types of membranes are available, each with an
elastomer of a different composition.
Standard pump fittings are with membranes made of Buna-N which is the best
compromise between chemical and mechanical compatibility. Membranes made from
HPS
®
, Viton and Desmopan are available on request, offering better chemical
characteristics.
