4.6. PUMP MAINTENANCE

•
Check oil level every 50 hours.
•
Drain the pump every 200 hours.
•
Check pump valves (
fi
gure 35):
- Unscrew the screws (1).
- Remove all the valves and check status:
▪
1. Sticking of valve on its seat - free and then oil.
▪
2
. If presence of foreign matters, remove them.
▪
3. Deterioration of valve, valve seat or cage: repl
ace the defective component.
The inspection operation and the replacement of diaphragms should only be performed by quali
fi
ed
personnel (see your BERTHOUD dealer).
•
Item (2), air chamber.
•
Item (3), safety valve (triggered at 30 bar, reset at 4 bar).
•
In case of spraying at nozzle level, adjust the air chamber
fi
ll pressure (2).
Note:
If there are pulses left in the nozzles, check there is no air intake on the spraying circuit located before
the pump.
•
Fill the chamber (6 / 8 bar max.).
4.7. BELT TENSION
FAN BELT

CAUTION: Before performing any work on the fan system, the tractor engine MUST be
stopped, the ignition off and the power take-off released.
•
If the fan belt (4) "crunches", the belt lacks tension.
•
Retighten the belt (4) if required. Remove the rear lid from the cell to access the fan belt.
CAUTION:
This phenomenon is destructive.
Note:
The checking of the correct tension of the belt is made by pressing your index
fi
nger between the driven
pulley and the drive pulley.
The belt should go down the same distance as its thickness.
