INTENDED USE
Your cordless impact wrench BACIW-18V has been
designed for professional screwdriving and nutsetting
applications.
DO NOT
use under wet conditions or in presence of
fl ammable liquids or gases.

let children come into contact with the tool.
Supervision is required when inexperienced operators
use this tool.

Electrical Safety
The electric motor has been designed for one voltage
only. Always check that the battery pack voltage
corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate. Also
make sure that the voltage of your charger corresponds
to that of your mains.
Your Berner charger is double insulated in
accordance with EN 60335; therefore no earth
wire is required.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by
a specially prepared cord available through the Berner
service organization.
Mains Plug Replacement
(U.K. & Ireland Only)
If a new mains plug needs to be fi tted:
•
Safely dispose of the old plug.
•
Connect the brown lead to the live terminal in the
plug.
•
Connect the blue lead to the neutral terminal.
WARNING:
No connection is to be made to
the earth terminal.
Follow the fi tting instructions supplied with good quality
plugs. Recommended fuse: 3 A.
Using an Extension Cable
An extension cord should not be used unless absolutely
necessary. Use an approved extension cable suitable
for the power input of your charger (see technical data).
The minimum conductor size is 1 mm
2
; the maximum
length is 30 m.
When using a cable reel, always unwind the cable
completely.
ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENT
WARNING:
Prior to assembly and
adjustment, always remove the battery pack.
Always switch off the tool before inserting or
removing the battery pack.
WARNING:
Use only Berner battery packs
and chargers.

from the Tool (fi g. A)
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious
personal injury, turn tool off and
disconnect battery pack
before making
any adjustments or removing/ installing
attachments or accessories. An accidental
start-up can cause injury.
NOTE:
Make sure your battery pack is fully charged.
1. Insert the battery pack (4) into the grip until it clicks
in place.
2. To remove the battery pack, press the two battery
release buttons (5) simultaneously and pull the
pack out of the grip.
Fitting and Removing Sockets (fi g. C)
The tool uses a 1/2” square drive system with detent pin.
FITTING SOCKETS
•
Align the hole (9) in the side of the socket with the
detent pin (10) on the anvil.
•
Push the socket (11) onto the anvil (12) until it
snaps into place. Tap it lightly if required.
REMOVING SOCKETS
•
Depress the detent pin (10) through the hole (9) in
the socket and pull the socket off the anvil.
