Simplified Air dryer system layout
System description:
Air is sucked by means of an extraction fan into the
double walled pipe system. Position of air intake is
normally a gas safe area in the outer parts of the ship
superstructure.
Air flows through an intake filter and then through a
two stage heat exchanger. In the first stage the air is
typically cooled down by 10C° for condensing water,
in the 2nd stage the air is heated up to 25 C° before it
flows into the double walled pipe system.
Chilled / cold water temperature is normally around
6 Cº. Hot water temperature approximately 50 Cº.
Relative humidity in the air flow is reduced to
approximately 30% at 25 Cº.
