Overview
FC500MFI is a Pro gram ma ble Mul ti fun ctio nal Mo du le de si gned for use in con jun -
ction with Fire Class 500 con trol panels, and of fers the fol lo wing op tions:

Description of the indicator lights
The FC500MFI Mo du le has 3 in di ca tor LEDs.
YELLOW Indicator [1]
This lights up in the event of mal fun ctions or pro blems
on the RS485 se rial line of the con trol unit.
YELLOW Indicator [2]
This lights up in the event of mal fun ctions or pro blems
on the RS232 se rial line.
GREEN Indicator [3]
This lights up when the mo du le is po we red cor rectly.
Description of the terminals
The FC500MFI Mo du le has two ter mi nal blocks [

nual); the fun ctions it of fers de pend on the ope ra ting mode of the Inputs/Out puts

can withstand a ma xi mum vol ta ge of 29 Vdc and are all “Mo ni to -
red”.

mode.

The FC500MFI mo
du le can also de tect the pre sen ce of a prin ter, using the
DTR/DSR ex chan ge si gnals: if the prin ter con nec ted to the mo du le can not ma na ge
this type of si gnal, a short-cir cu it sho uld be cre a ted bet we en pins 4 and 6 of the
RS232 con nec tor [

Simplified control interface
For this ope ra ting mode (see also "Input/Out put pro gram ming" in the pre vio us sec -
tion), the FC500MFI mo du le con nec tions must be in stal led in si de the de di ca ted con -
du its, so that they can not be in ter rup ted or shor ted, as the in puts ARE NOT
SUPERVISED.
