IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
20. DO NOT use the appliance if any part has been exposed to or has been under
water. Immediately call a qualifi ed service technician to inspect the appliance and
replace any part of the control system and any gas control which has been
submerged in water.
21. DO NOT operate the appliance if any log is broken.
22. The installation must conform with local codes or, in the absence of local codes,
with the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54, or the Natural Gas and
Propane Installation Code, CSA B149.1.
23. This appliance, when installed, must be electrically grounded in accordance with
local codes or in the absence of local codes, with the
National Electrical Code,
ANSI/NFPA 70,
or the
Canadian Electrical Code, CSA C22.1.
24. The appliance is equipped with a safety system, whereby the door will extract
any over-pressure in a controlled way. In this, the door will briefl y open.
A safety strip limits the maximum degree to which te door can be tilted.
To avoid any possible personal harm when the door opens due to an
over-pressure, always maintain a minimum distance of 8 inch (20 cm) to the
appliance, when igniting and when burning. If an over-pressure situation occurs,
the appliance should be thorougly checked by the installer.
WARNING:
Never connect unit to private (non-utility) gas wells.
This gas is commonly known as well-headed gas.
CODE APPROVAL
Direct Vent type appliances draw all combustion air from outside of the dwelling through
the vent pipe.
These appliances have been tested by CSA and found to comply with the established
standards for VENTED GAS FIREPLACES in the USA and Canada as follows:

Recreational Vehicles and Mobile Housing, CSA Z240.4.
